"Johnnies-Onions", that was the British called Breton onion sellers who, in days gone by, trekked on foot or on bicycles to the United Kingdom.
Today, a number of families are once again carrying this trade, keeping its memory alive and saving it from extinction. Heirs to a long tradition, one of the oldest in Brittany, the peasants and farm workers would travel abroad to sell their trusses of onions door-to-door to British housewives. How much longer will it continue?
