Evelyne Axell (1935-1972) is a Belgian artist whose work is now recognized internationally after thirty years of forgetfulness.
She is the first woman in the history of art to paint herself naked, showing her desire on the canvas.
Related to the Pop Art movement, she quickly abandons oil painting for the materials of her time: plexiglass, formica, opaline perspex, synthetic fur, enamel for cars.
His brutal death in 1972 interrupts a brief but intense career of 7 years.
The film traces her life as an actress and painter using rare archival footage while relying on the testimonies of those who knew her: her husband, Jean Antoine, her childhood friend Claudine Laroche, l writer Marcel Moreau, the painter Lionel Vinche, the biographer Philippe-Edgar Detry.
And dominating the film a strong work from which the premonition is not foreign.
