In this surprising boatmovie, poet Els Moors and documentary filmmaker Dominique Henry followed a young family and Romanian sailor on a barge, and life as it unfolds on the edge of the canal.
In the slipstream of Conrad’s Heart of darkness in search of the history of politically strained ‘project’ Belgium, they end up with a 19th-century worldview that seems like a copy of today’s European malaise. As the lives of all the characters intertwine, the boundaries between past and present blur and a clear call for change is heard.
