In the 1950's, the last unexplored sanctuaries of the planet are being attacked. In this wake, the scientist Bernard Heuvelmans created the "cryptozoology" or science of hidden animals, and aroused public interest in mysterious creatures. Based on ancient oral and literary traditions, cryptozoology lends credence to tales, myths and legends from around the world regarding the existence of supposed creatures.
