Portrait of a couple who lets us see the inner and psychological ravages of the war in former Yugoslavia.
At the outbreak of the war in Bosnia, Vesna fled from Sarajevo with her two children, leaving behind her husband Darko, mobilised in the Bosnian army. Two years later, Darko leaves at last Sarajevo to reunite with his family who is now living in exile in a small paradisiacal island off Split. It all looks like a happy end. It is only the start of nightmare… Darko and Vesna lived through those two years in exile in a very different way, completely modifying their relationship. They can’t relate to the other any more, even in the slightest little details of life. Darko and Vesna let us gradually glimpse at that overshadowed area one conceals at every armistice : the inner and psychological devastation left by war.
